Recently, price of tilapia in Zhanjiang kept dropping down, grown fish of 0.3 -0.5kg sold at 7.8yuan/kg, 9.7yuan/kg for 0.5-0.8kg, 10yuan/kg for 0.8kg up. Price in Maoming was similar, 7.8yuan/kg for 0.3-0.5kg and 9.8yuan/kg for 0.5-0.8kg.  

It was reported that the price drop was because of the frequent cold air. Another main reason is that aquatic feed factories were tracking AR collection, and those farmers who loathed to sell fish at first were forced to sell for the repayment, according to industry insiders. As for fish price of later market, the same industry insider indicated that farmers were worrying about another wave of coming cold air and might get panic and sell more fishes. Price was not optimistic in near period.

Tilapia quantity in fish ponds in Beihai, Guangxi was not big too, but, as fish materials transported from Zhanjiang and Maoming was getting more and more lately, tilapia price in Beihai was shocked and dropped to 8.1yuan/kg for 0.3-0.5kg and 10.1yuan/kg for 0.5-0.8kg.  

Different from the situation in Guangxi and Guangdong, tilapia price in Hainan was singing high along the way , which is 8.6-9.0yuan/kg for 0.35-0.5kg, and 11.2yuan/kg for 0.8kg up.

Influenced by the rain storm in October, tilapia raised in local farms were not much. Mostly counting on fish transported from west of Guangdong, processing factories dared not to lower their price in order to scramble for more raw fishes.
